Argue for your limitations... and sure enough they're yours.

Argue for your limitations

I wrote a book called "Selling at the Table" which explains how restaurateurs can increase their profits by doing a few small things differently in their restaurants. One of those things is removing water glasses from the table and offering a pre-dinner drink instead.

If done correctly, this works. Between 40 & 80% of people will buy a pre-dinner drink. It's worked in every kind of establishment from multi-awarded CBD restaurants, noisey city centre bars to quiet country venues. In the city centre bar, it was so busy and noisey they didn't have time to say the 'upsell' so they wrote it on a small table top blackboard and it still added $2,000 each Saturday night. (Not bad, over $100,000 for suggesting a special cocktail of the week on a blackboard!)

Of course there were those who said it couldn't be done. They had their reasons and explanations and created limitations for themselves and their businesses. At the same time others were doing it and making money from it!

We all have our limitations, our imposter syndrome narratives, our comfort zones. Most of what we claim cannot be done is a product of our fears.

I've found the fastest way through my self imposed limits is to engage a coach, mentor, teacher or buddy that won't stand for my excuses or BS. They encourage (shove) me out of my self imposed limits (comfort zone) and keep me out there for long enough that I actually realise, I'm doing ok, I didn't die, the business didn't crash, the wheels stayed on.

I encourage you to get someone to support you to do "what can't be done" you deserve more.
